Hey guys,  the Greensboro Grasshoppers (Marlins) released there opening day roster recently:  http://www.milb.com/roster/index.jsp?sid=t477

It’s a good squad led by SS) Garvis Lara, OF Corey Bird, OF Dalton Wheat and RHP) Jordan Holloway.

The big omissions are on the pitching staff, highly touted lefty Braxton Garrett is still in extended Spring Training, Tyler Kolek is still recovering from Tommy John and Edward Cabrera who’s probably ticketed for Batavia.  I was also surprised that both Braxton Garrett and Isael Soto were promoted and that Thomas Jones didn’t make the jump.  Despite all of this it’s a good squad.

It’s a strong squad that should score a lot of runs.  They’ll be led by  RF) Juan Soto and SS) Carter Kieboom.  3B) Sheldon Neuse, CF) Blake Perkins and 3B) Anderson Franco are all intriguing, as are  (LF) Nick Banks, OF) Daniel Johnson and LHP Tyler Watson.  We’ll see who else stands out.

Rome will once again be deep in starting pitching with Ian Anderson, Joey Wentz and Bryse Wilson.  JJ Cooper of Baseball America thinks Kyle Muller will join be in Rome soon http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/atlana-braves-jumping-mike-soroka-kolby-allard-to-double-a/#idaVmiSAkCiTdumT.97.

There are some talented position players as well.  I can’t wait to see CF) Cristian Pache and SS) Derian Cruz.  Juan Yepez and Randy Ventura are intriguing as well.

Hey guys, the Greenville Drive (Red Sox) announced there opening day roster this morning:  https://www.milb.com/drive/news/drive-announce-2017-opening-day-roster/c-222236206/t-196097264

It’ll be a very good squad,  the deep strting staff will feature high profile lefty Jason Groome and college arms Shaun Anderson and Mike Shawaryn.  The offense will be led by slugging 3rd baseman Bobby Dalbec and OF Ryan Scott.  I’m also interested in two young CF Yoan Aybar and Lorenzo Cedrola.

The only omission that really stands out is 2nd round pick, SS) CJ Chatham.   But getting both young CF and Dalbec seems like best case scenario and Greenville should be a lot of fun to watch in 2017.
