Legends in Asheville tonight

Hey guys, I’ll be taking a run over to McCormick field in Asheville tonight to see the Tourists (Rockies) take on the Lexington Legends (Royals).

Pitching for Lexington is right hander Scott Blewett (unfortunate name for a pitcher).  Blewett is age 20 is listed 6’6″ 210 lbs.  He was drafted by the Royals in the 2nd round of the 2014 draft out of high school in Baldwinsville, NY (Syracuse metro).  Blewett is a pitcher who’s been on my radar since the 2014 draft and somebody I’ve been waiting to see.  There will be a write up on him this week.

Pitching for the Tourists is right hander Devin Burke, age 25, listed 6’1″ 205 lbs.   Burke was signed by the Rockies as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech in 2013.  He’s spent time in the high minors pitching out of the pen since then and he’s been a spot starter since joining the Tourists last month.

Some of the Lexington hitters I’m looking forward to seeing include:

Marten Gasparini, SS, high profile signee out of Italy

Amalani Fukofuka, CF, RF, loud tools but very raw

Would have liked to see offensive minded catcher Chase Vallot but he’s hurt.

We’ll see who else jumps out.

I see a lot of the Tourists but I always look forward to seeing

Brendan Rodgers 2B, excellent hitter, I’ll have a piece up on him maybe later today but probably tomorrow,

Mylz Jones, CF, LF He does everything well

Sam Hilliard, LF, RF, Strong young man but needs to tap into the power more.

I’ll be live Tweeting throughout the game @AshevilleSoxFan. Cheers
