Tourists vs the Power tonight

Hey guys, I’ll be taking a run down to McCormick field tonight to see the Asheville Tourists (Rockies) take on the West Virginia Power (Pirates).  It will be my 2nd look at the Power this year.

The starters for tonight’s game are:

Bret Helton-Power

Helton, age 22, is listed 6’3″ 215 lbs, he bats and throws right. Helton was drafted in the 9th round of the 2015 draft by the Pirates out of the University of Utah.  It will be my 1st look at him.

Devin Burke- Tourists

Burke, age 25, is listed 6’1″ 205, he bats and throws right.  Burke signed with the Rockies as an undrafted free agent in 2013 out of Virginia Tech.  Burke’s been pitching out of the bullpen the last few seasons.  He’s spent parts of the last two seasons pitching out of the Triple-A bullpen.  I wouldn’t expect him to go more than a couple of innings.

Some of the Power’s bats I’m looking forward to seeing include:

Ke’Bryan Hayes, high profile 3B, was the Pirates 1st rd pick in 2015. Son of longtime big leaguer Charlie Hayes.

Slugging 1st baseman Carlos Munoz

Well see who else stands out

I see a lot of the Tourists, they’re my home park.  I live 1 mile from McCormick.  I always look forward to seeing:

Brendan Rodgers- slugging middle infielder, selected 3rd overall in the 2015 draft.

Mylz Jones- He does a little of everything, has good pop and speed. Jones usually plays CF but I’ve seen him LF and 3B

Sam Hilliard- slugging LF

It should be a fun game, I’ll be live Tweeting throughout @AshevilleSoxFan. Cheers
