Fireflies in Greenville tonight

Hey guys, I’ll be taking a run down to Fluor field in Greenville tonight to see the Drive take on the Columbia Fireflies.

It’s my 4th trip to Greenville  this season and my 1st look at the newly formed Columbia Fireflies (they were previously the Savannah Sand Gnats)  they’re a NY Mets farm club.  The Greenville Drive are are part of the Red Sox organization.

The projected pitchers for tonight’s game are Right Hander Tyler Badamo for Columbia and Right Hander Anderson Espinoza for Greenville.

Columbia has a  pretty talented squad, here’s some of the guys I’m looking forward to seeing:

SS Milton Ramos- age 20  A toolsy, young shortstop.

3B David Thompson- Age 22, 4th rd pick in the 2015 draft, Thompson’s not super toolsy but he’s got pop.

CF Ivan Wilson- Age 20, A toolsy but raw center fielder

As for Greenville:

this will be my 3rd look at young phenom Anderson Espinoza- he’s got a mid to upper 90’s fastball with late life and he mixes in a low 80’s change and low 70’s hook. Impressive young arm.

1B) Josh Ockimey, LF) Kyri Washington and 3B) Michael Chavis  All 3 of these guys have a similar profiles they all have plus raw power and some difficulty picking up spin and they’re all red hot right now.  A college arm like Badamo should be a good test for these guys.

It should be a fun one.

I’ll be live Tweeting throughout @AshevilleSoxFan
