I’m taking a quick break from my normal content to give a shout out to a few of my favorite podcasts. I try to do an article like this once in a while as a way to point to some of the talented folks out there who enlighten and entertain.
I’m fortunate that I get to listen while I work so I have sampled quite a few baseball podcasts at this point and there’s a lot of talent out there. I won’t get to all of them today but I wanted to at least highlight a few of my favorites.
Prospect 361 is probably my favorite of the bunch it features the tag team duo of fantasy legend Tim McLeod and prospect insider Rich Wilson, they’re informative and they entertain. It’s a dynasty fantasy baseball oriented program and it’s very rich in content.
Baseball Prospectus started a new podcast this Summer called Raw Projection and it was tremendous. There were two teams that alternated weeks, team #1 was Chris Mellen and Jeff Moore, and team #2 was Tucker Blair, CJ Wittmann and Mauricio Rubio. Both teams were a treat to listen too and were highly informative. They spoke about the players they scouted and the process involved.
Interestingly enough most of the names involved with the Raw Projection podcast have since left BP and formed the nucleus of the newly formed 2080 baseball. I’m excited to see what 2080 will bring us as it looks very promising and I’m sure BP will land on there feet I’m hoping they stay with the Raw Projection Podcast.
(3) Sox Prospects has an excellent one led by Chris Hatfield and resident scout Ian Cundall. They talk exclusively about the Red Sox with the bulk of there focus on the minors. What’s surprising and the reason they make my list is they spend a great deal of time talking about the low minors not just Greenville but also the rookie level ball players who I can expect to see in Greenville in 2016. They’re entertaining and very informative.
I’m stopping at three for today there are others that are definitely worthy of mention. I’ll try to do another one of these in a week or two and highlight a few others that I really like.
If you know of an excellent podcast, mention it in the comment section or look for me on Twitter @AshevilleSoxFan thanks
